Price Notes for Every Service We Offer
The tables above give you the rates. These notes tell you what each rate covers and what to have ready so the appointment goes in one pass.
Signature witnessing and acknowledgments. $45 per notarial act in office. This covers identity verification, completion of the notarial certificate your document carries, our record entry and the seal. Bring the document unsigned and a valid government-issued photo ID. If the document has no certificate wording at all, ask the receiving agency which act it requires before the appointment; we cannot choose it for you because that choice is legal advice.
Oaths and affirmations. $45 per signature in office. Affidavits, depositions and sworn statements are administered verbally, so every signer must appear and speak for themselves. Details are on our oath administration guide.
Vehicle title transfers. $45 per signature in office. Each seller named on the title signs, so bring every seller or book a mobile visit that gathers everyone at one table. Our vehicle title notarization guidance walks through the common pitfalls.
CORI and I-9 forms. $45 per notarial act or verification in office. Employers sending candidates to us regularly set up direct billing. For remote hires, we serve as an authorized representative for Form I-9 completion; see the I-9 service page for what the employer must send ahead.
USPS Form 1583. $45 per signature in office, and the form requires two forms of ID. Bring both. The Form 1583 guide lists acceptable combinations.
Copy certification. $45 per certification where Massachusetts permits it. Records held by public offices, such as vital records, are certified by the issuing agency, not by a notary. Check the copy certification page before you book so you are not paying for an appointment the document cannot use.
Notarized translations. The translator’s fee is separate and billed by page or by document. Our notarization fee is $45 per certification signature. The certified translation page shows how the two fees combine for a typical USCIS packet.
Apostille support. Notarization at our office is $45 per act. The apostille itself is issued by the Commonwealth, and state fees, processing and courier costs are quoted as a package on the apostille service page. International deadlines are unforgiving, so bring the destination country and due date to the first call.
Loan signings. $179.95 flat in office with 2 seals included. Mobile closings are quoted by zone and package, starting at $150 for refinances. Title companies and lenders can arrange direct billing and scan-back requirements in advance.
Hospital, bedside and senior living visits. Quoted individually because facility access, timing and witness needs differ case by case. The zone rate is the starting point and the written quote is the commitment. Compassionate scheduling comes first; if the signer cannot demonstrate awareness at the appointment, we reschedule rather than proceed.
Online notarization (RON). Priced per act and platform; the online notary page has current details and eligibility rules.
What Determines Your Total
Four factors set the price of every appointment: the service you need, where the notarization happens, how many notarial acts are performed, and when you book.
The service. A standard notarization, an in-office loan signing package and apostille support are priced differently because they involve different amounts of time, review and follow-through. The tables above show the base rate for each. If you are not sure which service your document calls for, describe it on the phone and we will quote the right one. The receiving agency, attorney, lender or court is the authority on which notarial act your document requires. We perform the act you request.
The location. In-office appointments at 1215 Main St, Unit 115 in Tewksbury are billed per notarial act at $45. Mobile visits are billed as a flat zone rate of $125 to $278 that already includes round-trip travel and 2 notary seals.
The count. Fees apply per notarial act or signature, not per document and not per page. A 40-page trust with one signature line for one signer is one notarial act. A one-page vehicle title with two sellers is two.
The timing. Standard weekday appointments carry no premium. Same-day bookings under 4 hours notice add $25. Weekend and evening appointments carry a surcharge that we state in your written quote before you commit.
Worked example 1. One durable power of attorney signed at our Tewksbury office: one notarial act, $45, usually 15 to 20 minutes.
Worked example 2. A vehicle title transfer at our office with two sellers signing: two notarial acts, $90 total.
Worked example 3. An estate planning packet signed at a Lowell home in Zone II: the $199 flat rate covers travel and the first 2 notary seals. If the packet needs 4 seals in total, the 2 additional signatures are $35 each, so the confirmed quote is $269.
Worked example 4. The same Lowell visit booked for the same afternoon adds the $25 same-day surcharge: $294, confirmed in writing before we dispatch.
Every appointment gets a firm written quote before you book. The number we quote is the number you pay unless you add documents or signers at the table, and if that happens we tell you the new total before we proceed.
In-Office or Mobile: Which Makes Sense for You
The office is the lowest-cost option. Mobile buys convenience, access and time. Here is how to decide.
Choose the office when you have one or two documents, you can travel, and weekday daytime hours work for you. At $45 per notarial act, a single power of attorney or CORI form costs less than lunch for two, and most office visits are finished in under 20 minutes. Appointments keep the schedule moving, so call or book before you drive over.
Choose mobile when the signer cannot travel, when several people need to sign in one place, or when the document belongs to a moment that cannot move: a hospital bedside, a senior living community, a business closing with staff on site. One Zone II visit at $199 with 2 seals included is regularly less expensive than coordinating three schedules, transport and time off work.
Choose online notarization when the receiving party accepts remote online notarization and you need speed over everything else. Our online notary page explains what RON handles well and where an in-person notarization is still the safer path.
Still weighing it? Call 978-424-4629 and describe the situation. We will tell you plainly which option costs less for your case, and you can schedule an in-office notary appointment or a mobile visit in the same call.
How Notary Pricing Works Across Massachusetts
Massachusetts does not set a standard fee for most notarial acts, so prices vary by provider. Knowing the landscape helps you judge any quote, including ours.
Banks and credit unions often notarize for free for their own account holders. The trade-offs are branch hours, no witnesses on staff, and branch policies that let staff decline documents they are not comfortable with, which happens regularly with estate and international paperwork.
Shipping and print stores offer notary service at some locations, with per-signature fees and availability that vary store to store. Calling ahead is essential, and witnesses are usually your problem to solve. Our guides on USPS notary options and FedEx notary options cover the details.
Online notarization platforms typically charge $25 to $50 per notarial act. They are fast for simple, RON-eligible documents and unsuitable for anything the receiving party insists on seeing signed in ink.
Law offices notarize as part of legal work, with the cost folded into legal fees. If you already have an attorney drafting your documents, ask whether notarization is included.
Where we fit. $45 per notarial act in office, witnesses available, Arabic and French language service, same-day availability most days, and mobile zones that reach the whole Merrimack Valley. You get a firm written quote every time, and the current rates are always on this page. When you compare, compare the whole visit: fee, witnesses, languages, timing and whether the notary will actually take on your document.
Five Details That Make Your Quote Exact
A quote is only as good as the information behind it. Have these five details ready when you call and the number we give you will be the number you pay.
1. The document type. Power of attorney, title, affidavit, loan package, translation certification. You do not need legal vocabulary; describing the paperwork in plain words is enough for us to price it.
2. The number of signers and signatures. Fees run per notarial act, so an accurate signer count is the difference between an exact quote and a revised total at the table.
3. The location. Our Tewksbury office for the $45 per-act rate, or the town and setting for a mobile visit so we can confirm the zone. Hospitals and care facilities also need access details.
4. The deadline. Standard scheduling costs nothing extra. Same-day under 4 hours notice adds $25, and weekend or evening timing carries a stated surcharge.
5. Witness needs. If the receiving agency requires witnesses, say so up front. We arrange them, and early notice keeps the appointment to a single visit.
One policy note: fees are nonrefundable within 24 hours of the appointment, so reschedule early if plans move. Rates on this page are current as of mid-2026 and this page is the source of record; if a rate ever changes, it changes here first.
Questions About Pricing
Not sure about your zone or what your appointment will cost? Call us and we give you a firm quote in minutes.
Use the town lookup tool at hiremobilenotary.com/notary-zones/ to find your zone by city or town name. You can also call 978-424-4629 and we will confirm your zone and exact total before you book.
The zone rates are base rates. Your final total includes any applicable surcharges — weekend, evening and same-day bookings — plus any additional signatures beyond the 2 seals included in every appointment at $35 each. We always confirm the exact total before your appointment. No surprises at the door.
Most notary appointments require more than one notarial act. For example, a will and healthcare proxy together require 2 seals. We build both into the base rate so most appointments have no add-on fees. Additional signatures beyond the 2 included are $35 each.
Yes. Loan signing packages involve larger document packages and more complex handling. Mobile loan signing is quoted separately — call 978-424-4629 for a mobile loan signing quote. In-office loan signing starts at $179.95.
No. Apostille processing involves notarizing your document and then submitting it to the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth. The zone rate covers the notarization only. Apostille submission fees are billed separately. Call us to discuss the full apostille process and cost for your specific documents.
Call 978-424-4629. We serve many areas beyond the standard zones and will provide a custom quote for your location. We cover most of Middlesex, Essex, Worcester and Suffolk Counties as well as parts of southern New Hampshire on request.
Yes. Same-day appointments are available in all zones, subject to availability and a $25 surcharge for bookings with fewer than 4 hours of notice. For the fastest same-day confirmation, call 978-424-4629 directly — online booking is available but calling is faster when time matters.
Yes. We travel to Lowell General Hospital, Saints Campus, Lawrence General Hospital, Whittier Health Network in Haverhill and most assisted living and skilled nursing facilities across the Merrimack Valley. Hospital and facility visits are quoted individually. Call us before booking so we can confirm access procedures, bring witnesses if needed, and provide your exact total.
Per notarial act or signature. A long document with one signature line for one signer is one act: $45 in office. Page count never changes the fee. Two signers on one document means two acts.
Yes. Multi-document estate packets and business document sets receive bundled pricing. Tell us what is in the packet when you call and the written quote will show the bundled total.
We arrange witnesses for office and mobile appointments. Mention the witness requirement when you book so we can confirm availability and include any coordination in your written quote.
Weekend, evening and same-day bookings carry surcharges, and same-day under 4 hours notice adds $25. Every surcharge appears in your written quote before you book, never after.
Yes. The in-office loan signing package is $179.95 and includes 2 notary seals. Additional signatures beyond the 2 included are $35 each. Mobile loan signings are quoted by zone and package.
No. Bring the document unsigned unless the receiving agency has instructed otherwise, and bring a valid government-issued photo ID for every signer. Most acts must be signed in front of the notary.
