What We Bring

Our mobile kit travels in the car at all times. The kit includes a fresh notary stamp, a bound journal, an embossing seal for documents that require one, a backup pen, a fingerprint pad for documents requiring thumbprints, photo identification reference cards for verifying out-of-state IDs, and an iPad for showing reference materials to signers. We dress professionally. We arrive on time. We bring patience for unusual situations.

Standard notarization is $45 per signature. Mobile visits run $125 to $278 depending on zone, measured from our Tewksbury office. The travel fee covers the round trip and the time required to travel.

Zone I covers addresses within 5 miles of our office, including Tewksbury and close neighbors like Wilmington and much of Billerica and Andover, at a flat $125. Zone II reaches within 10 miles, covering Lowell, Chelmsford, Methuen and similar communities, at a flat $199. Zone III reaches within 40 miles, including Boston, Cambridge and the western metro, at a flat $278. Every zone rate includes 2 seals, and additional signatures are $35 each.

How to Schedule

The fastest path is online through hiremobilenotary.com/booking. The system asks for your address, document type and preferred timing. You receive a confirmation email and we arrive at the scheduled time.

A word on what the flat fee buys, because the comparison shoppers deserve the full picture. The mobile fee covers the round trip, the appointment time, the equipment on board and the scheduling certainty of a professional who does this daily. Hourly-rate and per-mile notaries can beat a flat zone quote on paper and then erase the savings when traffic doubles the meter. A flat rate quoted before we leave is a number you can plan around, and planning is the entire value of mobile service.

Start with the baseline. In-office notarization is $45 per notarial act or signature. Mobile visits are flat zone rates measured from our office at 1215 Main St in Tewksbury: Zone I within 5 miles is $125, Zone II within 10 miles is $199, and Zone III within 40 miles is $278. Every zone rate includes 2 seals, and additional signatures beyond those are $35 each. The flat structure means no meter running, no mileage surprise and no recalculation when traffic is bad.

Either way, have three facts ready: the service address, the number of documents and signers, and any timing constraints like a facility visiting window or a courier deadline. Case one: a single document with a single signature. At the office this is $45. As a Zone I mobile visit it is $125. Unless mobility, health or a locked-down schedule prevents the trip, driving to Tewksbury saves $80. We say this plainly to callers because a mobile fee should buy something real, and for one signature it usually buys nothing the office cannot provide.

Case two: an estate packet at home. A married couple executing wills with self-proving affidavits, durable powers of attorney and healthcare proxies might need six notarized signatures across the packet. In Zone I that is $125 for the visit with 2 seals included plus $35 for each of the four additional signatures, $265 total, with both spouses, their witnesses and the paperwork all in one room on one evening. Case two and a half: the same estate packet, but the signer lives in a rehabilitation facility in Lowell. Zone II applies at a flat $199, the facility coordination rides along at no extra charge, and the family avoids moving a recovering parent for paperwork. Distance pricing looks less like a fee and more like a bargain the moment the alternative involves a wheelchair van.

Case three: a document the receiving party accepts electronically. Remote online notarization skips travel in both directions. If the document qualifies and the receiving agency accepts RON, an online session can beat both the office trip and the mobile fee. Case four: the multi-town errand. A common request pairs a signing in Lowell with a second signer in Dracut the same afternoon. Two stops are two visits, each quoted by its own zone, but scheduling them back to back trims the total when the route makes sense. Callers with multi-stop needs should say so up front. The honest quote sometimes comes back as one combined trip, sometimes as advice to bring everyone to one address, and the second answer saves more money than the first.

What rides along in the mobile kit also matters to the math. Every visit carries the commission stamp, journal, spare certificate forms for acknowledgments and jurats, blue-ink pens and a hotspot for the moments a document needs a page reprinted or an emailed copy pulled down. Arriving equipped means the appointment survives small surprises: a missing certificate page, a document revision emailed mid-visit, a second signer added at the table. The additional signature costs $35; a second trip would cost far more.

Evening and weekend visits carry a stated surcharge quoted at booking. Multi-document packets and recurring business arrangements receive bundled quotes, and payment works however you do: credit, debit, Apple Pay, PayPal, Zelle, cash or direct attorney billing. Fees are nonrefundable within 24 hours of the appointment, so lock the schedule before you lock the fee.

Capacity and willingness follow us to every location. The signer must understand the document and choose freely to sign it, whether the table is in a kitchen, a hospital room or a boardroom. When awareness is in doubt at a bedside or memory care visit, we reschedule at no charge rather than complete a notarization the signer could not meaningfully consent to.
